In aid of Alzheimer’s Society
Back in April 2016 we held our first (and only to date) Cathedral Quarter bake off when twelve local firms competed for the prestigious trophies awarded in the various categories. This year we have decided to extend both the area of competition and the magnitude of the event. Our traditional Christmas coffee morning, very kindly supported by Dark Horse owner Willie Jack, will now incorporate a Christmas themed Bake-Off and we are delighted that Andrew Smyth of GBBO fame will be the judge.
So, on the 12th December from 10am to 12noon the Dark Horse will as always be the centre of attention in the Cathedral Quarter as entrants, supporters and friends gather. There are three ways you can get involved - the obvious one is by baking a Christmas themed cake (to date 15 firms have signed up ) and for that all you need to do is let our Practice Manager know by email at firstname.lastname@example.org . If baking is not your thing then simply call in to the Dark Horse and for a generous donation you can have coffee and a slice of the action on the 12th from 10.00am – 12noon.
Since August when we appointed the Alzheimer’s Society as our Charity of the Year we have been finding out more about this disease. Whilst we were aware that over 20,000 people are living with Dementia in NI, and that in the UK almost 1million people suffer from Dementia, we have now learned that last year it was the leading cause of death both here and in the UK as a whole for women.
So this Christmas let’s really do something amazing to support this wonderful Charity.
PS. Yes I did say there were three ways to help and the third is, if you can’t bake or come on the 12th you can still donate on our just giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/edwards-co-solicitors
