Maura Ruoppolo
"Law is finding reasonable practical solutions to problems between people."
Maura graduated in law from Queen's University Belfast in 1993. She then took some time out to teach English in Italy, developing a fluency in Italian which still comes in useful in her work today. She qualified as a solicitor in London in 1996. Maura spent six years in London working for a specialist family law practice, dealing with all aspects of family law to include injunctions, divorce, maintenance and child abduction.
Maura relocated to Belfast in March 2003 and joined Edwards & Co to set up the Matrimonial and Family department. She acts as head of this busy department, instructed by mothers, fathers and children. Maura's work often involves an international element, acting on behalf of clients whose children have been abducted. She is known for her dedication and very personal attention given to each and every client.
Maura balances her work in family and matrimonial law with her responsibility for overseeing the management of several thousand of Noise Induced Hearing Loss cases being conducted by 9 of our solicitors. She also personally acts for a number of personal injury plaintiffs at both County Court and High Court level.
