Cathy Warnock
"I particularly love completing a transaction such as the purchase of a new house or business as this allows my client to move forward to a new phase of their life - a new beginning - and I have been part of making that happen."
Cathy graduated in Law from Leeds University in 1992 and qualified as a solicitor through the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Belfast, in 1994. Early in her career she was appointed as a manager of a solicitor's branch office and so realised that there was a need to develop certain business skills as well as legal skills. She studied and subsequently, in 1998, obtained a Masters Degree in Organisational Management from Queen's University.
Edwards & Co. was delighted when Cathy accepted a post in the Business, Property & Licensing Department in July 2007 having previously been in partnership in a firm of solicitors based in Newtownabbey for eight years.
She has chosen over the last ten years to specialise firstly in conveyancing. Cathy brings with her a wealth of experience in the residential housing market dealing with sales, purchases, transfers of equity and re-mortgages. She also deals with commercial transactions, including sales of businesses and business property, refinancing of businesses through commercial mortgages and commercial leases. Her second area of expertise lies with wills and probate. Cathy sensitively and efficiently deals with all the issues that arise when clients are planning their own estates or administering the estates of others. Her opinion and advice are highly regarded by her clients and colleagues alike.
