Catherine studied law at Queens University and graduated in 2006. Catherine joined Edwards & Co. as a paralegal in 2008. Later that year she successfully applied to complete her training at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queens, much to the delight of the partners and her colleagues. Catherine qualified as a solicitor in September 2011.
Catherine is currently attached to the Regulatory Law Department, Employment and Litigation Department. She has assisted on a number of Public Inquiries, dealing with the administrative management of the Inquiries and liaising with clients and Counsel. Primarily Catherine is involved in employment law assisting Senior Solicitor Julie Leonard with a large claimant action in the Industrial Tribunal representing hundreds of individual clients fighting for equal pay for equal value work as per The Fixed-term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 and Part time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations (NI) 2000.
One of Catherine's greatest skills is organisation. She supports the Partners in the implementation of the Firm's strategy for development. She has been responsible for the organisation of numerous seminars, professional development courses and social events. This experience of management at an early stage in her career will equip Catherine with the ability to effectively manage even the most complex of legal cases.
